Any Blu-ray You Regret Buying?

Any BD you regret buying as PQ was disappointing or not much better than DVD ? I don't want to get rid of my DVD collection in haste.

Personally I think the 3 disc release of Memento on SD DVD a while back has one of the very best PQ have ever seen. If ever released on BD is it going to look any better ?

Happy weekend folks.

Re: Any Blu-ray You Regret Buying?

dodgy blurays,
I think starship troopers was pretty bad,and hostel 2.
But still better than SD
I was watching it on a 2 m wide screen so might not be so apparent on a TV.
Not a bad average though, 19 blurays watched, 2 dodgy.

Memento is available on BD and it's a definite improvement over any SD versions you might have.

28 Days Later was a pretty pointless buy on BD. It was from a BOGO though and I sold the SD so I probably paid less than 3€ for the 'upgrade'. At least the case now matches my copy of 28 Weeks Later

The seating distance thing is quite annoying. Yeah it looks great from 20ft away.. so does my ex!!!. Grain is the best way to see that you are getting a good HD image. Use it to callibrate your equipment...

The Disney/Johnny Depp release, or Digital Playground's offering?

Re: Any Blu-ray You Regret Buying?

I haven't seen the Digital Playground release but I'm willing to bet that even porn acting was better than Depp's/Knightley's and Bloom's acting in POTC!

Depp and Rush were the only 2 redeeming features of POTC for me.

Bloom is an absolutely awful "actor" though.
