To provide some context, this has been done on purpose to try and protect some of the iTunes stuff.....

Sharing legal files is easy via iTunes though....

Re: quick Q? iphone

You cant transfer any files by bluetooth using the iphone.

But that doesnt mean you have to pay for all your music again, just download/rip it to your computer and sync it via itunes.

Not necessary, it fully integrates with iTunes and everything you can store in iTunes like video's podcasts etc...And vice-versa, any music you buy on the iPhone can go to the computer as well via iTunes. Any song in iTunes is easily transferred as a ring-tone (just do a search as it is explained many a time how to do that).....For example I have got an automatic play list in iTunes which creates a list of all my 4 star or higher music which gets synchronised to my iPhone....Likewise for videos and now as I am getting in the mood I used the Genre=Holiday to create another play list and I have all my Christmas songs on it...

I've got mine now just over a month, can't think of any memorable gripes it just gets better and faster. Very good battery life, total integration with my laptop, very good phone reception, and in the useage stakes I have used the browser and email more than ever before on any phone I had before. It is just so inviting, and for the record I had a data package for my previous two years as well....Sure there are things to improve like single SMS to multiple recipients, but then again I had no need for it the last month, and come to think about it only did that a few times before...

You better as otherwise you might brick it....Hijacking another thread does not help...

Besides I bought an O2 one with an O2 contract, and I think Hutch did the same as well....I guess having to get up to speed on how to do it, prevent future updates and/or hacking it again is one of the drawbacks of doing it, hence I did not go down that road...Anyway you get much better help in that thread...
