help please! :-)

hi i have a television (pana tx28pb50)
and it has progressive scan, that is i can change the display mode from either 100hz mode or prog scan mode. however i cant find any imput on the tv for progressive scan. as far as i am aware i would need a component cable which has an input looking not unlike your usual VLR imput. this seems really strange to me i can't figure out why a tv boasting progressive scan doesnt seem to have a prog input
the technician is coming over tomorrow to look at the faulty optical and av port on it anyway. so what should i ask him? its confusing

thanks for any help guys,
much appriciated

Some TVīs have their own Progressive Scan Mode (internal De-Interlacing) whereas others have Component Video Inputs to accept a Progressive Scan Signal from a suitably equiped dvd player. In addition these TVīs usually have their own Prog.Scan Mode as well.

Just depends on the TV. For example JVCīs new HV32D25 can accept both NTSC and PAL Progressive via the Component Inputs but it also has a Movie Theatre Mode for use with normal interlaced signals (RGB/S-Video/Component). The Philips 9527 P+ has its own Progressive Scan Mode for NTSC playback but no Component Inputs for an external Prog.Scan signal.
