Both same price,
phone can be unlocked so not worried.
touch thinner and 32gb
iphone has intergrated phone...

It would depend a lot on whether I wanted a phone or a music device... :)

I would get the iPhone, both are great devices, but once you start using it though you will want to take it everywhere you go, hence I would say get the iphone, not only is it a great phone but is also excellent at playing music as well.

If your mainly after a MP3 Player i'd get the touch 16GB isn't enough for music (well not mine anyways)

Can the iphone be extended with the use of an sd card or similar like the other mp3 flash players?
If so, get the iphone and whack in more memory.

I had the touch for about 2 weeks then brought it back and swapped for the phone. The main reason being I liked having the net on it, but I travel most weekends or am at work all day with nothing to do, so being able to put in a sim card and get the net was the deciding factor, I dont really use mine as a phone, got one of those already.... and an ipod... dunno why I bought it lol, but I do like having it.

The iphone's main advantage over the ipod touch is the speaker. It makes a huge difference to it's use to watch video and toutube. The ipod touch can be easily jailbroken to allow third party apps as can the iphone. My view is that the best ipod is an iphone with a PAYG SIM in it!

The external volume buttons on the iPhone also come in handy. The Touch doesn't have them.

if you bought the 16gb iphone are you able to upgrade when apple bring out a 32gb iphone?
