iPhone EDGE help!

Hi,

I have an unlocked 1.1.3 iPhone on T-Mobile network. I have so far only used this at home and have connected the device to my wifi.

I have just checked my usage and I have sent 99kb and received 1.7mb of EDGE Network Data. I didn't even know EDGE was turned on and presumed I was just using the wifi!

In the EDGE Settings the APN, Username and Password are all blank. How do I turn off the EDGE?

Also does anyone know what would be best to add to my t-mobile plan if I was to leave EDGE on?

I'm in the same boat. With T-Mobile on Flext and have been charged £1.70 even though I only want to connect via Wi-Fi. I already have Data Roaming turned off in Network settings.

Anyone know how to turn EDGE off?

Same problem here. Would be nice if you could switch it off, but my constract runs out in 2 weeks and O2 offered me a free upgrade with extra texts and...

You can use the app Bossprefs from installer to turn edge ect off and it works with 1.1.4 unlike services.

is this on a 12 or 18 month contract??
if you don't mind me asking what tariff are you on.
i'm with o2 and due for an upgrade this month, but want to ensure that i remain with a 12 month contract but see if i can get unlimited data downloads....:lease:

I have no idea what contract im on lol. I have had it for about 5 yrs. I have approx 600mins(anytime/any network) and 500texts for £35. I seem to get something extra every year.
If you can't get the unlimited data, I think the bolt on is about £7 or £8.

in that case i think you're on an 18 month contract, i believe the bolt-ons like the unlimited data bundles cannot be added to 12 month contracts...:thumbsdow

Goto SETTINGS > GENERAL > NETWORK > EDGE > then under APN enter "Not connected" and leave USERNAME and PASSWORD blank

hi lads i got an iphone unlock with ziphone and 1.14
i am on a o2 sim with unlimited internet bolt on
question is
what is edge
do i get it
were do i find it
on here it says go to
setting/general/network/edge (i dont have that)
i have
setting/general/network then 3 wifi / vpn /data roaming (which is on)
does this mean when outside i will connect to interent through edge or do i need to get it turned on

You dont have it because if you are using an O2 sim its already configured and working
