Question Optoma HD70 Calibration

Hi all,

I've just got the HD version of DVE and I'm going to have a crack at my HD70 (just got to get my 40th birthday this weekend out of the way first! )

I know that the pic is simply not right, and it seems whatever I do with the basic settings to fix one thing I make another setting then look worse.

If anyone has any tips for this I would be grateful, otherwise I'll report back.

Out of interest, how much would it cost me to get my HD70 professionally calibrated by one of the nice folks from AVF (I'm 10 minutes from J13 of the M25)?

Re: Optoma HD70 Calibration

You can find pricing on most of our websites.

I suggest you go and read Garry Lightfoot's basoc calibration guide on the projector forum.

Do not try to use any filters supplied with discs for checking colour would be my main tip.

Gordon

A quick bump here if I may.....

Gordon-how much would it be for you to come over and calibrate my kit (I'll also have a PS3 connected by HDMI to an Onkyo 605 by then hopefully!)

NB-Don't know if you remember me, but I bought your Snazio 1350 from you.

A quick update from me....

I want to say thanks to Gordon for the calibration-the results are amazing.

He was uber efficient and polite and went through calibration for all my kit.

If anyone has any doubts about getting this done, stop doubting and contact Gordon to arrange a booking!

You won't regret it.

Thanks Gordon.

PS-did you get the HDMI lead back ok?

Good to hear that your HD70 looks even better after ISF. I have often wondered about what ISF would do nd i suppose the only way to find out is to get it done.

Considering your HD70 is 720P (I also have a Sim 720p pj btw) what has been the biggest difference to the picture in your room?

You also haveba HTPC like me and i was wondering if that 'source' was also ISF'd to the HD70? I have a HTPC also with BD player and am not sure if a HTPC can also be ISF'd to my Sim?
