Thumbs down Denon Link cable

http://www.hifix.co.uk/sku.lasso?ite...cc39fd357029ce

1.5 Metres £239.95

It's either the retailer or Denon but someone is having a laugh.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130677

Cat6 2 Metres £0.94 and it's still cheaper then pence for the Denon cable.
They also do .5Metres for £0.63., Cat5 is £0.35.

Cat 6 is the highest quality Ethernet cable.

Yes - you are correct - but its not the retailer, they are offering a substantial discount! - other people are (trying) to sell this cable for £350.00
Just shows how an audiophile and his money are easily parted!
I thought my £5 cat6 cable from amazon was a tad expensive!! - but I did get it deivered the next day!

Re: Denon Link cable

If you didn't know anything about computers and networking you wouldn't know what a cat6 cable is.

Even the cat5 35p cable will do the same job because ethernet cabling is designed for long runs.

Re: Denon Link cable

I did buy at a computer shop a CAT 6 UTP network Cable and i can say is does sound better that the cat 5 that was in the box of the 3930.

I also did hear some people dit get a CAT 7 from Germant that also sound better than cat 5 and 6.

And not that much money as denon ask for that cat 6 cable.

I would expect an audiophile to be objective enough to go with the best sounding solution regardless of costs. Unless this cable is a significant improvement on the standard (which flies in the face of what Denon themselves tell us) then the people buying these are just wealthy compulsive obsessive people who feel they need to 'have the best'. And why shouldn't Denon cater for this particular part of our society? Makes sound financial sense to me!

I have to admit I was tempted with the original Denon cable. It really looks fantastic in its blue outline. On the other hand 100 times the price for beauty
