I already own the top three, I was specifically refering to japanimation, although family guy is seriously funny. Was stressed eric on cartoon network at one time?

Don't know about Stressed Eric, I don't have Sky (only watched it when on BBC 2)

Another one I want - Red and Stimpy. Not available.

Ghost in the Shell?

Got all of them, spirited away is great, one of the best anime films I've seen.

Well I have now seen Spirited away and it is brilliant. (had the DVD here with me but never got round to watch it, this thread got me to watch it)
absolutely brilliant. I don't know why but it is.

Have you got any others in the Hayado Miyazaki collection?

Street Fighter 2 is pretty good. One of the first anime films I ever saw...

Shoka
02-03-2003, 8:46 PM
Ive got that one and the other street fighter one as well. Storylines were a bit ropey and the R2 is cut to shreds but the animation was good.

I watched it on Sci Fi so I don't know anything about it being cut. The action and fight scenes were great though...didn't care about the plot :)

Tekken is very similar to SF2 so watch that if you haven't already seen it.

How about one of the Urotsukidoji discs ?

I bought a double DVD (Legend Of The Overfiend/Legend Of The Demon Womb), I watched the Overfiend and found it ummmmm, interesting  Havent got round to watching the second yet though.

The Daily Telegraph called it "Deeply Disturbing"

I got it here anyway - http://www.playserver2.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2&title=92138

I think Legend of the Overfiend is terrible! That and Fist of the North Star.

Shoka

The R2 version is cut to shreds - for obvious reasons, bestiality, rape etc. I tried to get hold of a R1 boxset (5 films I think) but decided not to after a previous thread here. If customs got there paws on it I'd never see it.

Fist of the north star, LOL. Have you seen the live action version?

nathan_silly

Nope.

whack whack whack whack (etc) then explode!

Kronin

Ok, Urotsukidoji gets a big :thumbsdow

Must admit that I found it really confusing, it got a decent review on IMDB but there were alot of other users who got lost in the plot - Im presuming the cuts on the R2 didnt help either.

Cant think of any other films that havent already been mentioned, although I always thought Golgo 13: The Professional sounded quite good, anyone seen it ?

the Legend Of The Overfiend/Demon Womb are great if you like scenes of extreme cartoon sex and gore:grin:

I'd also recommend Ninja Scroll, Wicked City and Devil Man.

I am also interested in purchasing my First Anime title, but Im not too sure what to purchase first. I have to say I don't like the sound of the Anime titles like Streetfighter or Tekken.

I like the sound of Vampire Hunter D, any other recommendations, for a Anime virgin?

Akira.

Watch with the Japanese audio, and english subtitle.

Probably the best japanese anime ever.

I like the sound of some Sword and Sorcery Anime titles. What would be the very best to pick up first?

Thanks
