View Full Version : Black Hawk Down SE
I don't really see what else they can add, there's already a French R2 3 disc versions which has alot of extras, so I don't really see what else they'll put in. But is anyone waiting for this? I dunno if it'll be worth it, I'm not sure whether to go for the current 2/3 disc version for cheap, or wait for the SE...
I don't know hat they could add to the french and belgian sets. I have the belgian 3DVDset and it is very extensive.
But on HTF:hometheaterforum. (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?threadid=125634&perpage=30&display=&pagenumber=2)
Charlie de Lauzirika, the producer of the columbia SEs says:
I would strongly recommend waiting for the R1 release. Trust me.
after we asked ourselves what more could be added to the R2 and R4 3DVDsets

Hmmm, maybe I should then, it'll be pretty expensive though.

With luck it will make the vanilla version even cheaper and I'll buy that instead :p
In my opinion, anyone who hasn't already bought this film should buy the excellent Danish version with a DTS soundtrack. OK so it isn't a 2, 3 or 4-disc release with 3 commentaries and a dozen mulit-angle featurettes but the image is superb and the DTS track is sweet! It's been available for ages, is fairly cheap and doesn't have much foreign writing on the menus or forced subs.......

Do you know of any good scandinavian sites! Very interested in this dts version.
I just got the 2 disc R2 version for £10.99 on HMV, ah well, maybe I'll trade it in if the SE is good.

I have the French 3 Disc Limited Edition and it's a beautiful set. DTS is overrated ;).

The only thing I can imagine that could improve on the R2 SE would be the including the excellent History Channel The True Story Of Black Hawk Down documentary in its full length (it's been shown as both a 60 and 90 minute version depending on what time they broadcast it), which puts it in its political/historical perspective aswell as going through the op blow by blow.
