This isn't another whats better/what do you prefer thread, this is purely for me to help decide.

Unless things change ie Warner changes its mind, there is no point in buying into HD-DVD as good as it is

I thiink you've posted this in the wrong forum???

I'd go for HD DVD if I had to choose one or the other at the moment due to this story...

LINK

Thats assuming you're talking about standalone players.

Microsoft has come out and continues to support HD-DVD..Not enough to include it in their XBOX360 though.By the end of 2008 there will very little of interest released on HD-DVD Sorry thats juat the way it is...Wait and see..Most Blu-Ray owners 6+mil have PS3`s no problem at all with upgrading firmware

Good points, I personally haven't looked in great depth into either format as I'm not looking into getting either in the near future. I'm happy with my DVD's.

I understand that the firmware thing is a null point if going along the PS3 route but for standalone players it must be a big dissapointment to know that you will not be able to use half the features of future Discs.

As I say I haven't really looked into it so I may be wrong.

I think this belongs in the DVD Players (High Definition) forum.
