Power problems with Toshiba 46WM48 rear projection

Hi there i have a Toshiba 46WM48 rear projection tv, the lamp was replaced approx 6 months ago and it has been working fine, until recently, at first it started to over heat after an hour of use, and now it refuses to switch on at all, when i press the power you hear it powering up, (the screen stays blank) and then the green light starts to flash repeatedley. I have left it off for a few days (with the main plug removed) and then tried switching it on again but it just stays in a cycle trying to switch on and a flashing green light.

the green light flashes 4 times and then theres a very slight pause and then it flashes 4 times again and so on.

if anyone knows what the problem may be, then please let me know. the extended warranty has now finished, so i want to determine weather it is worth repairing, or buying a new tv.

any help would be greatly appreciated,

Please see link below and click on the user manual on the right hand side. There is a fault list about half way through the document, 4 x flashes and then a 2 second gap shows as a lamp fault.

Had this TV for 3 yrs now and just starting to think about upgrading to a 50" plasma, anyone know what these go for second hand, I will wait for the lamp to go and replace it under warranty before selling ?

D&G to cover for this TV for £50/yr and includes the lamp.
