IR Receiver Issue

Please Help

I have recently purchased a new computer and redeployed my old Dell Dimension 2400 into the lounge to act as a media center.

I installed all the updates / roll ups for MCE and then installed the IR Receiver and applied the latest roll ups to that.

The problem I have is that every time the PC is rebooted or spends any length of time in standby the IR Receiver is no longer detected (disappears from Device Manager). If I then unplug it and plug it back into the USB port (or any other USB port) it is immediately detected. I also have a wireless USB adapter and this always works perfectly.

I have tried the IR Receiver on my new PC (running XP Pro) and it works perfectly.

Something in the power management settings for the device on that PC, perhaps?

This is one of the issues that the MCE Standby tool (freeware) is supposed to cure.
