Looking for a bit of advice - I would like a 26 inch LCD for my bedroom.
I am currently looking at the Vistron DB26-BD, or the Samsung LE26R87BDX. Is the Vistron a good deal or should I splash the cash on a Sammy. I will using the integrated freeview, for dvds and playing the wii.
Thanks in advance :)

Which one did you go for and how is it? Any regrets?

I have been looking at these also as I was informed that the 32" DB32-SD had a Samsung panel, so thought the DB26-BD would also ?
I had noticed last night that the Black version is now up to the same price as the 32" at £309.99, which is still £90 cheaper then I can find the LE26R87BDX.
I have sent ebuyer an email as this can't be correct as the Silver one is still listed as being £269.99

Hi, I took the plunge and bought a DB26-BD. When I received it, it was cleary second hand and came with no accessories or anything - just a bare TV in a box. I plugged the scart cable from my DVD to see what it looked like....SHOCKING! Unbelievably terrible. So it went back, but I decided to give it a second chance, and my exchanged item was much better. Looked new, came with everything it should do and so I plugged it all in. I was impressed with the picture quality actually. Much better than I thought it would be and also made me realise the first one was clearly a faulty one. Brightness, colour, everything seemed fine in terms of the picture quality, but apart from noise reduction, it didnt seem to have any other picture enhancing technologies (like DNIe for Samsung, or XD for LG, etc). Freeview was was very good too (after you run the first time install) - nice picture quality there also. As for the remote, you don't have to press it really hard like some people suggest...it kind of goes to sleep, so you have to press a button to wake it up before it registers any presses. This maybe a battery saving feature.
However, my replacement also had to go back because the freeview was coming out in black and white unless I applied pressure on the antenna connector, so there was a bad connection somewhere.
The build qulaity, as you may expect, is cheap. Very basic TV. Very home made like, but asthetically, it looks ok. Oh, and sound isnt bad either.
I decided to shell out an extra hundred and get an LG 26LC55 instead. I think its likely to last longer and provide an even better picture quality so thought it would be worthwhile to spend the extra cash since I want it to last a while.
As for the Vistron - its not a bad tv - its not great, but its certainly fine for a bedroom TV - thats if you get a working one!

After a lot of research on this forum and the net I decided not to go with the Vistron - too many issues it appears. Too many reports of people getting a TV that is clearly not new!!
Looking for a 32" now, and planning on a PS3 purchase aswell. Still love the look of the Samsung LE32R87BD, but have looked at the Sony KDL-32P3020. It just doesnt have the same look though!!!
Both TVs seem to be on about par - only real benefit is the Sonys ability to do 1080, which is prob not that important in a 32". And the Samsung is slightly cheaper!!

I recently bought one of these for my gf, and its beeeaaauutiful! I love it, picture quality is fantastic. But to be fair, I dont have another 32" to compare it to. All I can say is that the picture quality is great, esp with DVD's (Even through a normal scart). Not tried HD on it but I bet that would blow me away considering how good SD looks on it!

Hi All
I have one of these Vistron TV's in the son's Bedroom and can back up what people are saying the first one went back as it wasn't new it was faulty and had bits missing but the second one was perfect in a sealed box not a brown tape resealed one like the first one
It does use a Samsung LCD Panel my brother in law checked the faulty one before we sent it back, so the picture quality is fantastic for the price, OK the connectors are a little on the shall we say Rustic side but once set up and installed It is perfect, sound quality is great it packs a good punch when watching films or music chanels and the son's XBOX 360 is connected via component and runs just as clearly and smoothly as my 360 on the Pioneer Plasma in the lounge, The Digital Freeview receiver is great it picks up a couple of channels my Humax Recorder in the lounge doesn't as we are in a weak signal area so that impressed me, HDMI Connection is great too My son has a HDMI DVD Upscaling recorder plugged into it and standard def DVDs look great on it very crisp and sharp.
we haven't had any problems with the remote like other people suggest it responds and works fine
so all in all for £250 delivered from Ebuyer it is a very good bedroom set or a good lounge set if you are on a budget but make sure you check it when you get it and if it doesn't look new sealed in the box send it back and get another one
