A delightful romantic comedy is this.
Meg Ryan does her usual thing (as Kate) but she seems to get better at it over time. Hugh Jackman is great as Leopold (the inventor of the elevator). Movie also features the lead from Road Trip, as Kate's brother.
The movie plays on a nice concept of love through time (Leopold being from the 19th Century, Kate being from the present day) and there are plenty of good gags to keep you amused, particularly at the start
Much more than your average chick flick.
The R1 DVD has a very appealing video transfer but colours are not as vivid as they could've been. The 5.1 mix is very decent, especially for this sort of movie.
There is the theatrical cut and the director's cut on the disk (not on separate sides, so I presume via seamless branching which is unnoticeable).
I give this one 7/10 :)
