Hi,

I'm a happy ex homechoice customer who's been watching TV via my broadband for many a year now and I've been very happy up to now.

I do however feel left alone by Tiscali and they just appear to be taking my money and not able to do anything for me! I can't even register on the Tiscali user forums as I have a homechoice email and not a tiscali one!

All that said my trusty old metal homechoice STB went belly up this weekend and I've just had an engineer replace it with the new one so that was quick and efficient!

My issue is I want the free line rental offer as I'm paying £11 a month for my BT line and don't need to any more. I love the TV service and my speeds are great but everytime I call for something no one can help me on the helpdesk! One person even told me I needed a MAC number from my provider! I told him I was with Tiscali and he told me I wasn't! (Got bills to prove I am!)

Anywho, I've joined this forum as I've seen MK_Brett on here and also on the Tiscali one so I hope you can email me or something with at least a pointer of what to do so I can get what I'd like.

(Which is 8Meg broadband with TV plus the variety pack for around 25/26 quid and NO BT LINE RENTAL. Unline the £29.98 plus £11 per month to BT!!! I'm wasting nearly £200 a month on the exact same thing I've got!!!!)

Please please please please please MK_Brett, can you help!

Craig.

Hi,

To regiser on the Tiscali forums, you need to create a Pay as you go dial up account. YOu don't need to pay anything as long as you dont use the dialup. That will get you a free tiscali email address.
As for your current issue, if you are being billed via the homechoice, you can't have the Tiscali products - yet!. We are in the process of migrating HC customers to the Tiscali platform. Once this has completed, you will be able to choose from the existing range of products. This is happening over the next couple of months.

I had the exact same compaint as you, when i rang to complain i was offered nothing until i threatened to leave, in the end i got a £10 reduction on my bill until it's switched over to the tiscali service.

Craig.

I have taken this up with Homechoice / Tiscali in the past. I explained that I thought that it was unfair to offer some customers free line rental and not others. When I explained that I was willing to cancel and then re-join in order to take advantage of the new offers I was offered at £10 p/m discount on my package to compensate for having to pay BT for my line rental. That was about 6 months ago and I am still receiving the monthly discount.

Well they just cut me off last week with no notice and the best solution they could give me was to join again!

Seriously if anybody else offered this service (Broadband plus TV) I'd be off like a shot!)

Anywho, engineer arriving next Friday, until then I can report that my 3 USB 3g Modem is getting some hammering! (Not bad either.)
