Controlling Sky Plus with A Standard Sky Remote

Can anyone confirm if it is possible to control a sky+ box basic functions using a standard sky digital remote.

I am looking at getting a sky+ box and I already have a IR-RF transmitter to change channels from the bedroom.

At present I use an old one for all jobbie but it would be nice after having it installed to the old sky remote upstairs (until I can convince the missus we need a second subscription).

Why not get a proper TVLink from Sky? The original remote can control a very limited number of functions on Sky+ (there is a procedure on some website that I can't find right now).

This place used to do kits with amplifier, sky+ remote, and tv link, but doesn't appear to be on their website anymore. You can probably phone to get a deal tho.

Hope that helps. It is only the channel up/down buttons that work tho .

You can buy sky+ remotes from Maplins, but you might be better off getting a cheap programmable remote
