bose bought in the usa

Would a bose home cinema system bought in the usa work in the uk
I am thinking of buying due to the fact they are half the price compared to the uk prices
I know another power adapter would be required any help on where to buy one would be helpfull
also are these multi region
will the radio work et
i have been told by bose uk that they are not compatible but then again they would as they want me to buy a uk version

As I posted in the ICE section a few days ago regarding ICE from the USA, the same stands for home audio:

Yes but not very well, the US uses different channels spacing on radio and different de-emphasis on FM. So you will get some stations and not others and those on FM you do get might be sibilant. There are adapters around to change the channel spacing but by the time you have bought one of them probably the overall cost makes it uneconomic. Also no RDS on US radios.
