yet another remote KBD and Mouse request

Hi,
Sorry to post yet another repeat thread but my own requirements are for a remote KBD and mouse but concentrating on the Mouse more than Kbd.
I have looked at the other posts but...
I want to do mostly Video editing work and need precise control when selecting individual frames on the timeline.
I find touchpads very cumbersome so require a proper mouse.
Any recs on a combo that will work thru brick walls upto 20' .
Price about £20-30 plse.

If you require frame accurate control for video editing then I don't think you can get a better device than the Contour Shuttle Xpress.
I personally use it's bigger brother for video editing, the Contour Shuttle Pro v2, but this is a bit over budget I think

If you do a lot of editing then these are really worth the money IMO. They can also be programmed to work with many other programs to speed up working
Not wireless I know, but they are the best for the job.

Mark.

Re: yet another remote KBD and Mouse request

Thanks Mark, you're advice most helpful in the past with the XP thread.
I followed my own suggestion and installed an extra 80GB disk and installed XP no problem, once I got over the SATA driver issue. ( did u get yours working )?
Anyway, that has allowed me to run my favourite Nero and Pinnacle 9 on my new superfast PC.. hence the new problem.
I really just want to extend the option to leave the PC in the conservatory and sit at the dining table with just a display,KBD and mouse.
I could even run extension cables but that almost defeats the object of being remote or hard wired.(although the display would obviously be on extension)
I have just tried the option of Remote Desktop via another thread but it doesn't seem to run Studio 9 .
So, remotes ??

It's along (and boring) story, but to keep it short - yes I did get there in the end

I can't see why remote desktop doesn't work. All this does is display and control your other PC, so if the PC can run it you should be able to use remote desktop to control it. I use it all the time at work for remote PC's & servers.

The problem with a wireless mouse etc is a slight delay - I believe that most gamers tend to prefer a wired mouse for instant responces. For the distance you want I would think you are limited to bluetooth devices.

Re: yet another remote KBD and Mouse request

OK, on the issue of remote desktop, I got it to access the remote PC but it would not start Pinnacle, with an 'argument' errror.
It would run Nero 7 but when I went to Vision it reported hardware acceleration was not enabled.. someone else thought this was beyond the capabilities of the system etc. ( see my thread in Windows )
SO, I'm back to remote KBD's or even extending the cables but that is not the answer I was hoping for.
I accept your comment on the mouse 'delay'. That might cause me as much aggro as anything.
Will have to think about it
