Why isn't 'The Lives of Others' mentioned??
Seriously if this drama isn't your cup of tea genre wise, you've got to check it out for its exemplary HD Picture quality. It looks like it was filmed on the best Film Stock, Best Cameras, Lenses etc. of course by an ace Director of Photography without the need for all this Hollywood hocus pocus Post Production tweaking. Who has watched this Blu Ray? I watched it on my Optoma HD 70 on an 84" Screen. There is a little grain on some night scenes which must be deliberate and why some reviewers knock down from a 5 star rating to a 4 is beyond me. If you're dealing with film on night scenes, it's gonna react under the circumstances the D.O.P. and Director laid out for that particular scene so grain is often intentional like in this movie to add a little moodiness. I'd love to hear others opinions on this movies picture quality. Hats off to German Film Makers......Can't wait for a HD version with English subtitles of DOWNFALL (Der Untergang) |
