PC to TV Help (HDMI/DVI Adaptor)

Ok, so i want to hook my HD TV up to my PC and i have some questions.

My 8800 GTS GFX cards don't seem to have the HDMI/DVI ports so i understand i will need an adaptor to plug the HDMI cable into?

Is this adaptor good enough?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...3EDVI+HDMI.htm

Another question is...will this also carry the audio or will i need something else. If i do need something else, what do i need?

Another question...i have 2 8800 GTS GFX cards, do i have to plug the TV into the other socket on the one where my monitor is, or use the other graphics card?

Thanks for any help you can give me, i hope i posted in the correct section

Try http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130516 and no DVI cables do not carry sound you normally need a 3.5 to 3.5mm stereo audio cable see your TV instructions for connecting audio not via HDMI (normally use PC audio port and menu can swing this to one of the HDMI ports.

I'm impatient so will probably get one tomorrow from PC World or something

Want to do this though so i can play .mkv files from off of my PC on my TV...do i just do it by opening up the file in a media player on my TV and then just make it full screen?

I've also heard that you can break your TV if you use the wrong resolution? Is this likely to happen haha?

Thanks for the help

Re: PC to TV Help (HDMI/DVI Adaptor)

I have a Samsung 40" LCD - run at 1920x1080 60Hz. If I set an unsupported reso;ution all I get on tv is resolution not supported message - don't think you can damage it - at least not on the Samsung one.
