I have a Media Centre PC which I occasionally use to record Freeview TV, which I can then put on a DVD and watch on the telly - which is all a bit cumbersome so I'm on the verge of getting a separate PVR for the added convenience that it offers.

However, the best of both worlds would appear to be a media streamer that can also be used to record TV in the same way that a PVR can.

I've come across the Pinnacle showcentre 200 that would appear to be able to do this (I have a Pinnacle TV card in my PC), but it's getting on a bit & doesn't seem to have a particularly nice interface.

Does anyone know of anything similar for a sensible price?

Before you embark upon the perilous journey of "finding a media player that will do what it says it will, let alone what you want it to", seriously, I should have a look at twin tuner Freeview PVRs. For what you want to do they are purpose built, work out of the box, and nowadays you can shove in a 1TB HDD and never run out of space.
