Sky with new imac?

Are thre any issues with using sk broadband and a new intel imac?

I know the imac is compatible (says so on sky wbsite) but does it work well with the wireless routers etc?

Any comments form someone using sky with imac, or anyone who has experience of this would be great

Cheers

Re: Sky with new imac?

I have found that Mac Airport cards work fine - why wouldn't they?

Just remember the $ in front of the WEP key.

forget using WEP... it's very unsecure. a 4 year old with a speak n spell could crack your connection.

i have 2 macs at home and 2 xp machines and sky bb works excellently for me. i have the netgear router plugged into my airport extreme which is set up in a wds with an airport express.

if i were you i would use WPA/WPA2 Personal for your WIFI. it is very secure. you will get a passcode for your WIFI when everything arrives from sky, either connect wirelessly with that or connect with an ethernet cable and then change your WIFI address (SSID) and password.

to log into the sky router use 192.168.0.1 from a web browser and then "admin" as the username and "sky" as the password.

also check www.skyuser.co.uk. very good sky related site.
