Panasonic SC-PTX7 set-up

Hi Guys,

Having picked up my new home cinema kit today i am disappointed to see no connecting leads - poor show Panasonic

So with a Samsung R88 lcd and Sky HD I am looking to hook it up as follows:-

tv - sky - hdmi
panny - sky - optical lead
panny - tv - hdmi

Will this ensure optimal performance? If not what would be the best way way forward?

Thanks in advance guys!

might want to add an audio from the telly to the home cinema if you use the tv's tuners at all.

Re: Panasonic SC-PTX7 set-up

Thanks for the reply qwerty.

I had to hook the hd box to the panny by scart in addition to the optical cable to get anywhere. Not sure why but it works!

Really pleased with the 'ooommph' it gives my samsung lcd. There seems to be a delay/conflict between the sound from the tv and the panny so I have muted the tv. Although this works for me it would be good to hear from anyone who has a fix for this......

Thx!

Re: Panasonic SC-PTX7 set-up

why would you need both at the same time though..
its obvious there will be delay,as 1 is fine, and the other is processed,so thats where the delay comes in.

Hi,

I have the Panasonic SC-PTX7 and have it connected as you have stated. Don't really think you need to make anymore connections. The Sky HD programs and DVDs in Dolby Digital sound awesome.
