Which is best way of controlling the sub?

I got the MA RSW12 sub. On some films it just gets too heavy on the base so i need to turn it down. Is it best to decrease the db on my Onkyo for that or the actual volume knob on the sub itself?

Re: Which is best way of controlling the sub?

i think its best to ideally have it at a - reading on the amp rather than a +

i would recomend putting the amp on -10 and then adjusting it on the sub to slightly below the level you would listen to normally, that way you can increase when you want a tad more or decrease
