I want to get myself a squeezebox. But. At home we have skyhd and have it playing on the hd tv in bedroom via some phillips scart sender things.(not in hd though) these boxes allow me to change the channel on the sky box etc. The problem is they arnt much cop and they crackle quite a lot. So i was wondering is there a wireless device to send my skyhd (or not hd) up to the bedroom (i assume wireless network will be better than the phillips senders) and also my music library from my pc (which is next t the sky box.
Cheers Ben

What you are wanting is multiroom without paying for it, then? I don;t think there is, and if there were, you could bet that Rupe would shut it down.

Does it HAVE to all be wireless? If not, then what about a loftbox and magic eye for the TV and something like the squeezebox for the music?

No not multiroom, just controlable from upatirs like i have at the moment with the scart senders i have. The problem with these is they are very suseptable to interference. (it has ir so i can still use to control the downstairs box but the picture gets fuzzy alot) I dont want to hardwire due to location flooring etc. So as i was about to get a squeezebox(the missus likes the name of it) i wondered if i could send my sky hd picture in a similar way

In other words i want to transmit a hd signal from my lounge skybox to my bedroom with out wires. and if that same device can transmit music from my pc as well that would be cool.

So does the tv in the bedroom currently share the same aerial as the main tv?
I wonder whether a Slingbox-type solution is worth exploring?

I'm using Slingbox via wired ethernet and it sends a pretty good picture around the network with my V+ box through component. It's not quite HD though.
I guess if you added a wireless bridge you could do the same. For the cost of the extra hardware though you might as well go for multiroom.

But sky won't run a cable to the "other" room, will they? I thought they rely on you already having the required cabling in place?

ok if i put a slingbox solo and connected it to sky hd then connected it to a "plug in the mains" network how would i get the info from the ethernet connector upstairs to my other hd tv.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention. The Slingbox sends to a PC. Mine outputs via my PC to either my monitor or projector.
They are releasing the "SlingCatcher" soon which will apparently enable you to output to a TV.
This is getting expensive.

Alternatively, get yourself a soon-to-be-released (if ever) Relook 510 with the optional remote IPTV receiver. That will do all the remote stuff for you that you ever may want. In HD, of course.
