Sonic Stage help

My friend has all his sonicstage music imported, but it's imported compilations into lots of 1 track albums.

How do you group them back into album other than going through each track and clicking the compilation check box?

Unfortunately apart from changing the id tags. The only way i have found to group compiltions in sonic stage is the method you describe.

Re: Sonic Stage help

If you go to View - All Tracks, and sort by Album (click the Album tab), assuming the Album name is correct, this should help group the tracks into the compilation album. Hopefully anyway, I've not had to try it myself...

Re: Sonic Stage help

Barock is right.

If you are showing the 'all tracks' view, sorted in 'album' order, it is relatively quick to re-tag each track. Right-click on the first track, select Properties, tick the 'Tracks in compilation album' box and click 'Next' (or for speed, press Alt-N on your keyboard).

This does get quicker as you get into the swing of it, but there does not seem to be any quicker way than this of re-grouping the tracks.

The only warning is to beware of any grouped compilations you may already have in the library - if you are going too quickly you can 'uncompile' existing compilations if you untick a track that was previously ticked.

Re: Sonic Stage help

You dont need to go one by one though, once you've sorted by album so that all the tracks are next to each other, highlight them all and click properties. Then click the compliation album box (but dont adjust artist name or they'll all get the same one) and your done. Very easy, very quick.
