Panasonic SC-PT850E-K and divx subtitles

I was planning to buy such a system but I can't seem to find any definitive answer to the question: does it play divx subtitles. Can anyone who has this system tell me that? Or, if the answer is know, recommend me another all-in-one in the same class (tallboy speakers, upscaling, optical input, good sound and picture, divx)?

Can't tell you about the 850, but the lg hr902ta has everything you need and more, plus it definately plays back DIVX subtitles, see below:

DivX file requirement
Available resolution size: 720x576 (W x H) pixel
DivX file extensions: “.avi”, “.divx”
Playable DivX subtitle: “.smi”, “.srt”, “.ssa”,
“.sub (Micro DVD format)”,
“.txt (Micro DVD format)”Playable Codec format: “DIV3”, “DIVX”, “DX40”,
“DX50”, “3ivx”, “MP4V2”, “MP4V3”
Playable Audio format: “AC3”, “PCM”, “MP3”,
“DTS”

The only problem is they're in short supply at the moment, I've been waiting on one to be delivered from Empire Direct for the past 3 weeks now and they're still unable to tell me a specific delivery date...

Just had a quick look at the 850's manual and found this:

(Extension: “.DIVX”, “.divx”, “.AVI” or “.avi”)
• You can play all versions of DivX® video (including DivX® 6) [DivX video system/MP3, Dolby Digital or MPEG audio
system] with standard playback of DivX® media fi les. Functions added with DivX Ultra are not supported.
• DivX fi les greater than 2 GB or have no index may not be played properly on this unit.
• This unit supports all resolutions up to maximum of 720 x 480 (NTSC)/720 x 576 (PAL).
You can select up to eight types of audio and subtitles on this unit.

So yes, your in luck.

UK version does not support DIVX, european models which do can be bought from Pixmania
