There's a lot of scope for confusion.
Blu-raystats.com lists Paramount titles. They did come out on blu-ray but then Paramount left blu-ray. The titles they did have now probably all being sold and may not be available anymore. Of course you might still find them on E-bay or in a stores bargain bin.
So the Paramount titles could be counted as they were released but in reality you might not find them. Should they still be counted?
There’s another discrepancy. Some sites list those titles available worldwide some sites don’t.
http://www.hddvdstats.com/index.php doesn’t list titles available from different distributors in Europe. For instance Saw III, Resident Evil, Terminator 2, Reservoir Dogs etc. As HD DVD is region free these titles are available to buy and watch in English though with foreign text on the cover. Should these be counted for HD DVD or not? If you are happy buying from lots of different countries it means you have a lot more films available. If you are not then you should only count the official releases.
To some extent this also applies to Blu-ray. Blu-ray has also had a few releases worldwide and providing they are not region coded they are also available as an option.
So if you want to count titles do you count Paramount on blu-ray or not? Do you count worldwide titles that have been released or not?
