Panasonic SC-PT850, TH42PX70, Virgin & WII

Right, here we go, complete amateur here so need some advice (and probably a kicking for stupidity!!) , I had a look thought some other posts and I think I’m getting there in terms of connecting everything together. Currently I have my Virgin Media HD box through HDMI to the TV, the Panasonic SC-PT850 sound system via the other HDMI, and the Wii via component. Problem is that I only get the sound from the PT850 when I watch DVD's and not when I’m watching tv or cable, which makes sense as I'm guessing I need to put the Virgin box through the PT850 and then into the TV but not sure how to do it, I’ve seen other posts about using a digital optical cable but I’m not sure if that will solve my incompetence!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You need to connect an optical cable from V box to the 850
You need to connect phono cable (red and white) from wii to 850

To listen to V box press 'EXT-IN' on 850's remote until 'D-IN' shows
To listen to wii press 'Ext-IN' on 850's remote until 'AUX or 'TV' shows (which ever phono inputs you use)

Im assuming the wii doesnt have optical outputs but if it has you need to buy a splitter so you can connect both to the optical input on the 850

The Wii has phono outputs as part of the component cable. You will need to buy a phono extension cable in order to take the cables to the cinema system however.
