Re: digisender - av in another room - remote
Youd be better off running cables in my opinion. I've had a couple of digisenders for sending stuff upstairs to a bedroom. They can be OK but susceptible to interference, especially from microwaves and WiFi. In the same room cables would be much better. under the floorboards is good if you have suspended floors or round the edge, maybe in some trunking
You could then either look at a remote extender for your existing remotes or a universal (powermid or similar)
or
even better look at a universal remote with RF (Pronto or Harmony perhaps) which communicates directly with an RF extender
