Sound problem Wharfedale 160 hdmi

I have just bought a wharfedale 160 DVR and when on the programme guide screen the sound drops out every 3 seconds.
Is this normal or a fault.
Has anyone else noticed this

I have a Digihome 160 and its fine

Your Digihome 160 is presumably the Vestal T810 single record hardware which was OK in this respect? Several others have reported this bug on the HDMI Wharfdale PVR which uses the T825hardware. The same problem also exists on the previous dual record T816 harware.

Just to add to this, I bought the 250GB version yesterday and this does the sound drop outs when you are in the guide as well. How do I give feedback about this to the makers? Apart from that everything else is brilliant, picture quality, series link etc all working well. I for one am well pleased with my purchase.

Re: Sound problem Wharfedale 160 hdmi

Contrary to the other posts here I think this remote is really easy to setup and use. My Sharp LCD was listed so that was easy to set up and all functions are catered for. My Technics DVD player also works fine but I was slightly surprised to find that there was no ‘door open/close’ key but I just programmed in another key using the Learn function which is really easy to use. I didn’t really expect to be able to get my Whafdale 160DVR to work so I was well pleased to find that it was picked up under the Automatic Code search but it is true to say that I had to teach the remote most of the codes using the Learn function. I would agree that the use of the double use of the red, green, yellow and blue keys as transport keys is short sighted as PVR’s use both functions but it is easy enough to programme in a few new ones to compensate. However, I have found ways to circumvent the use of the coloured buttons on my PVR so this is not an issue.

Regarding the comments on Sky+, Aldi is a Europe wide company and although there must be a few 100,000 Sky+ boxes in the UK this is very small in global terms so its hardly surprising that a £10 remote will cater for it. Mind you I am also surprised that it cant be taught the codes as I have yet to find one that it wont learn and it will store over 100.
