Keyboard

So I bought Lorna a keyboard for her birthday/Christmas present and having it in the house just give yet another photo opportunity.

I might actually have a go at learning to play it myself but I can't see me getting very far as I can't read music, that's a very defeatist attitude already I know but.........well, there you go!

Anyway, comments welcome

Re: Keyboard

Nice shot Steve.

I'd have been tempted to either reframe the shot so the Yamaha logo and key markers aren't in shot or clone them out. Also, there's a slightly distracting speck of white dust on the 3rd key in.

Sheesh, i'm critical aren't I.

Thats not dust I'll have you know, it's a reflection off those brand new shiny keys!!!

Edit: Actually it is a dust speck, I was looking at the main white bit........yes, you are critical, but I love you!

It'd be no fun at all if we all agreed on everything.

Are you sure that isn't a dust speck?

EDIT:

Re: Keyboard

nice shot .. gonna be interesting to see how you develop your shots in the days / weeks to come with the keybaord theme ...

mate i would seriously encourage you to take it up - playing an instrument is fantastic. I played the piano for about 6 years when I was younger. It's my one single most regret in life not keeping it on ... then again now I like to bang things and call myself a drummer !

Re: Keyboard

My eye keeps getting drawn to the white speck of dust on the 3rd key in, if you stare at it for too long it begins to take on gargantuan proportions and takes over the whole photograph.

Very disappointing Mr Green, i expected better of you

Re: Keyboard

Like how the grey of the keyboard goes well with the black and white of the piano keys.

Been playing the piano for about 20 years, can honestly say in that time it's the only thing I've kept a constant interest in. I'd certainly encourage anyone to take up learning an instrument.

Re: Keyboard

That's a nice clean shot for ISO 1600 Steve, you must have got the exposure spot on for that.

I think I'm with you on the Yamaha logo, to clone it out would leave it a bit too plain IMO.

Re: Keyboard

Liking the framing, DOF and processing on this one Steve - very nice

Personally I think a couple of specks could be cloned (mentioned previously I think), as well as a bit of cloning in the top left of the frame to remove the dark corner
