This is my first post here hello to you all.
I am getting rid of my sony seperates (reluctantly) I really need to go small. I have allready let my tannoy R1's,R3's,centre + sub go for the Bose 5.1 acoustimass 6. I have got the TVIX HD M4000P and have been looking at the TEAC DR H 300 DAB. The problem is it only has conections for L+R speakers. Is there anyway I can rig up my Bose for full 5.1?

Not through a 2 channel amp, I wouldn't have thought.

Why have you bought a two channel amp?

pwr, I didnt think that DAB radio, if thats what a TEAC DR H 300 DAB is capable of giving out 5.1 sound? If it does give out 5.1 then at a guess its via a coax or optical out. If the Bose has a coax or optical input then that should work fine. The only other possibility is that the DAB radio has 5.1 channel phono outs and the bose has 5.1 channel phono inputs.

If all thats a bit confusing tell us what connections the Bose has and I am sure someone will try and help.

pwr, I have just had a quick look at your kit and it looks like you have a Bose 5.1 speaker system and a 2 channel DAB receiver???? I dont think your receiver can power all 6 speakers, does the bose speaker system have any amplifiers? If so what sort of inputs does the bose speaker system have?

Can you give us some more details???

I haven't bought it, I was looking at it. It is just what I want but not with 2 channels. What I would like is something exactly the same with 5.1, if not I think I will be looking for a small 5.1 amp and a seperate small dvd. and run the tvix through it.

I am sure that you can buy 5.1 DVD receivers with a multi channel amp built in. they tend not to be top drawer in terms of sound quality though and upgrading will mean junking the whole thing.

What did you want to spend?

Good ones:

Arcam Solo Movie 5.1 is £2000
Meridian G95 is £4000

Oh, I see. The DAB receiver isnt suitable for providing the 5.1 bose system with amplification.

Unfortunately I dont have any suggestions as to a model that would fit your requirements.
You could try posting for suggestions for a small receiver in either the "all in one group" or the "integrated amplifiers" groups on these forums.
