Need help please, because of yesterdays dashboard update to Xbox 360. It can now playback DIVX. I have since then decided to buy either the QNAP TS-109 or the QNAP TS-209 to share out my media, I have one Xbox 360 in my room and another downstairs in my brothers room, what I need help with is the living room only has a standard CRT with VCR and DVD player (not a DIVX player) other than buying a cheap core console to place in the living room what other options do I have to watch media from the QNAP in the living room??
(this is really for the folks) i want them to be able to access new prison break and Lost from my media drive.

I'm using the Netgear EVA8000 with the TS-109 as a host and it works well. The firmware's not 100% perfect (on the Netgear) yet but I'm delighted with how quickly it's developing.
But you'll no doubt be bombarded with plenty of other suggestions of the perfect setup ;)

thanks for the reply, as stated this is really more a solution for the living room so folks can take advantage of my media, movies/tv shows etc. I' am ordering the TS-109 at the weekend, was going to go for the TS-209 but bit stuck for cash at moment. So until it arrives I can analyse my options for a media streamer in the living room.

But the EVA8000 IS designed for the living room
It plugs into the back of the telly (eg via SCART) and is connected wirelessly/wired/via homeplugs to your, soon to be purchased, QNAP.

ah ok, cool. I haven't really looked up anything on all this to be honest. Just had a thought thinking I might purchase the diskless TS-209 and add in a Seagate Barracuda from dabs means when I do get some extra cash in future I can add a second drive. were as with the ts-109 it would have to and external drive.
