Just received another email from tiscali saying that Tiscali TV is available in my area!! So I rang the 0800 number and now I can have the service, a month ago I couldn't.

Its a bit strange to me as I currently pay Tiscali about £30 a month for line rental, 8Mb broadband and anytime phone calls. I will be getting all the above Plus a few TV channels for £24.99!!!!!!! What sort of business model is this???
Its great for me, saving £5 a month, but whats in it for Tiscali???

Anyone had Tiscali TV (not homechoice) installed? Mine is to be fitted next Friday.

they are the same bud, tiscali took over homechoice ll us old user went from a homechoice interface to tiscali a few months ago.
I would imagine your bb pack was purchased a while before this happened so you can prosper now, good luck bud:thumbsup:

Cheers, I thought that the homechoice was still a different service although owned by Tiscali.
Fingers crossed it will be good but even if its not its still £5 a month cheaper :-)

Ched, they charge less once they get their kit in your local exchange. Until they do that they have to pass on a BT charge (for using BT equipment in the exchange). As soon as their kit is in your exchange, that BT charge goes away. So its actually £10.50 cheaper, but they charge you an extra fiver for the TV.

I just wish they would hurry up and do my exchange! I still pay £30 for anytime and broadband only!

If you want to see when they did your exchange, look it up on www.samknows.com

Tiscali provide me the following: Internet at 8Mb via phone line (ADSL), I have a BT line but now dont pay BT for phone line rental, anytime phone calls (normal land line calls all day, evening and weekend are included) , and Tiscali TV.

Tiscali TV is a bit wierd in that the box you get is effectively a freeview receiver plus a lot of extra channels available via the ADSL line. You can pay extra for channels such as Sky Movies (just a selection), Sky Sport, some of the discovery channels, UK TV channels including UK Gold. Plus they have on demand services from BBC, FX, Channel4, and a few more. I am nor sure yet what extra channels you get free with Tiscali TV as I am still getting extra free for the first 2 months.

For £50 you can get a TV box that will also record stuff.

So to summarise I get 8Mb broadband, phone line rental, anytime calls, and Tiscali TV for £24.99 a month!!!!!
