Question Sky > Component Problems

Hi, hope somebody can help me.

I am running Sky+ in the lounge. With a plasma panel and component amp. The Sky signal goes to a JsTech RGB > Component box which in turns goes to a JsTech Component splitter. One of these goes to my AMP the other goes upstairs to my Component connections on my LCD in the bedroom.

The problem is I can get sound no problems upstairs but can't seem to get a picture. The only way to get a picture is to turn the Amp AND Panel on in the lounge! This has me baffled as surely they should run independent the way I have it setup?

Any help in solving in this would be appreciated, Thanks.

Re: Sky > Component Problems

Hello Repster

First test would be SKY > RGB2YUV converter > LCD TV to 'prove' a straight connection works.

Re: Sky > Component Problems

Tested the connection direct to the LCD upstairs tonight as you suggested and it worked fine Joe.

Re: Sky > Component Problems

Hello Repster

Now insert the 1x2 YUV + Stereo audio splitter and try the cables to the LCD on both sets of Outputs - do both Outputs deliver Sound and Video to the LCD?

Re: Sky > Component Problems

I seem to have accidently solved the problem! I went sleep last night after watching something upstairs on the LCD. Turned everything off and went sleep. Got up this morning I decided to start from where I had left off. 'NO PICTURE!?!?!'

Frustrated I went downstairs checked wires. For some reason I turned off/on from the Sky downstairs, went upstairs and the picture was working. Remote did not work however until I pressed the 'Sky' button.

So I guess this is actually a Sky box problem now? anyone know if this is just a bug or is there a way around this?
