15 meter HDMI or 2 x 7.5 meter joined

I need a 15 meter hdmi cable but so far the cheapest i can get is for £34.99.

i could get though 2, 7.5 meter cables and a connector for £23.

would joining 2 cables cause me any problems. ie loss of quality etc

the cable for £34.99 is identical to the 7.5 meter ones.

I guess it depends on what you join them with! It shouldn't cause any problems in theory but it possibly will!

Hello FGEvans1

You can run into problems using a 15m HDMI cable never mind two shorter cables + a passive coupler.

Whatever you go with be prepared for it not being plug and play.

hmm strange for 5m and above we use 26 AWG and for 10+ we use 24 AWG i know some companys who use 28 & 30 AWG Cables for 15M, i dont recommend the two 7.5, also check the AWG on each cable.

Look in this thread, it seems like you are asking the same question a previous poster asked recently:

Long HDMI Cable or 2 Short ones coupled

Hello FGEvans1

AWG = American Wire Gauge; do a Google or a Wiki for the full run down.
