Advice please on which type of stand to purchase

Hi,

We are getting Sky multiroom installed in a new conservatory in a couple of weeks and I have managed to talk the better half into letting me have a 42" plasma as an early crimbo present.

I've pretty much convinced myself to buy Panasonic but my question is this:

Would I be better buying a 42" Px700 (about £1100) and a normal stand (£150-£200) or

Buying a 42" PX70 (about £800) and buying a stand with integrated amp. & speakers like the Sony RHTG800 (about £600) or I believe Sharp do a cheaper version.

Firstly which setup would be best and secondly has anyone got any experience with the Sony or Sharp and do any other manufacturers make a similar device?

I apologise for the long winded question but I haven't a clue about this subject.

Being a bit old fashinoned and fearful of the word 'integrated'. I would go for the seperate option. That way if the amp breaks all you have to replace is the amp, not the stand and everything else. Pessimistic view of the technology but....

I'd get a screen, standard AV rack and av amplifier then a quality 5.1 speaker system. Much better than a HTIB and in your case, HTIB built into rack.
