I've got an 'N' reg S-class merc which for years now has benn afflicted with the CD jumping/stopping when I go over bumps and sometimes even when I go around a corner fast.

The CD changer (Blaupunkt A05) is in the boot fixed to the side.

Do you think this could be fixed simply by changing the CD changer or should I buy a new one?

If I buy new, is it worthwhile getting a similar(or same) Blaupunkt unit or is it time to upgrade?

I quite like the new Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB head unit - any comment?

Thanks

Some CD changers are notorious for this especially in cars that have stifish suspension. My advice would be to upgrade to a unit that has a 10sec or more antishock mechanism! If your buying a new one you usually have to buy the same make as the headunit.
But I have heard recently that u can get leads made up to allow cross brand connections. This is bound to be expensive tho.
Hope this helps:)

The first thing to check is that the suspention on the CD player has been set correctly when it has neen installed and all the transport screws have been removed.
Are you trying to play CDR's if so try a media with a different colour.
If none of this helps try having the laser cleaned.
The A05 is not that old and should be good for a few years yet.
