m&k why are they not seen fit for music?

why are m&k not seen as music speakers? even when paired with a good sub?
is it their honesty?

Seen as a bit bright tbh. I've heard S-150 and although great a bit too aggressive on the top end.

Also sat-sub isn't ideal Hi-Fi setup, most Hi-Fi people usually have standmount, no sub (smaller room) or floorstander, no sub (larger room)

Re: m&k why are they not seen fit for music?

They are very detailed which is great for movies etc but can introduce listener fatigue for long term music needs. Though I never get 2hrs of unadulterated music listening these days anyway. Music is generally preferred warmer, much easier on the ear.

Sub interfacing can be tricky too and we have a right to expect a manufacturer can properly link however many drivers he sees fit to use, and however many enclosures within the cabinet he thinks he needs, so in theory a large "full range" speaker should be better when it comes to treble to mid to bass matching. Now which is best at reproducing the original source, however we might prefer to hear out sounds, will always be a source of debate

Tbh I think the difference between movie sound and music is overplayed. The real question is what is best for stereo and what is best for multichannel, and can you really combine the both in one array, well of course you can but is there a compromise to be made?
