Hi Guys,

I have this thread running over in the PS3 Blue Ray section but can't seem to get to the bottom of it.

Can anybody shed any light?

what resolution are you outputting of the PS3? or what does the AX100 say its recieveing.

PS3 isnt as good via componet as it is via HDMI. for the best PQ the PS3 does need to be connected via HDMI.

It's running at 1080i - that's what the projector says it's being fed with.

Long story why I running Component - suffice to say that it looks like I'm going to have to re-wire my front room which means ripping open the coving again where the many cable have been hidden.

So the projector is the AX100 correct?

Im not sure but i suspect component 1080i is not being converted properly by the PJ. its been a while since i had a AX100, but for best results you need to use HDMI with that as well for 1080i.

Im pretty sure it takes 1080i, converts it to 540p and then upconverts to 720p and thats why your seeing an image that does not look so good, your losing half the resolution. thats most likly the culprit.

if the PS3 can output BD discs at 720p over component try that, as it will cut out the conversion at the projectors end and may keep the resolution intact.
