Sky+ to reduce to £49

As posted on another forum, no official confirmation yet, just verbal, but Sky are expected to drop the price of the Sky+ unit down to £49 today for new customers. This is only weeks after raising the price to £149.

The £49 for the unit excludes the compulsory £30 installation cost, but is a good option for those wanting Sky+ facilities.

Re: Sky+ to reduce to £49

Has anyone heard anything else about this?

Missed out on the free Sky+ refferal offer due to BT taking three months to install my line. Would definitely purchase at this price.

Would be good news if this was for existing customers as well!

£149 + £30 set-up for a stand alone sky+ box is just daylight robbery

Re: Sky+ to reduce to £49

I just had a new box installed for £49. New customer. Signed up direct with sky at a local shopping mall. Couldnt use quidco because of the recent price increase.

Pity the monkey they sent around to install it drilled through a central heating pipe causing a couple of hundreds quid worth of damage, ruined the lamitate flooring and didnt tidy up after himself!

Oh, and the viewing card doesnt work so I have to wait for a new one.

Re: Sky+ to reduce to £49

If you contact Sky now they should be aware of it, although it might take a little while to filter through their system. Deal is on, new customers only from what i've been told sorry.

Re: Sky+ to reduce to £49

Just rang Sky, quoted me £99 for Sky+ box and £30 install. Would not budge. Is there a promotion code for this £49 offer or even better the free box and install package that I can quote?

Cheers

Mark

No, its just the new deal but might not have got through to the Sky reps yet. The free deal with only apply in the digital switch over areas.

Re: Sky+ to reduce to £49

At present it appears its only applicable through an ASA, however, Sky usually take up the same offer soon after to compete with their own agents!
