...to control my Sky+ box with my Onkyo AV Remote? Surely it must be, after all it can control my TV and DVD player, so why not the Sky+ box?

I don't know if it can or cannot but someone in the know will require the remote model number at least.

Sky boxes are controlled with Sky remotes. Sky remotes can also control TVs, amps etc. Remotes for TVs and amps cannot control Sky boxes.

See if you can get codes for onkyo to control sat boxes pace etc . I got a £4.99 multi remote from ALDI it controls tvs the video dvd sky+ sky and my hi fi
