SONY STRDB 930

Howdy ...yes its been out for some time now i bought mine 1999, and its great all rounder...initially had it running with Pioneer 535 DVD player...but now have bought the Sony DVP305 and the picture quality is much better , the sound is more viberant!

I am using Acoustic Energy 209s front left and front right, Acoustic Energy Agies centre, Mission 77D dipoles for rear left and rearl right.

Great sound , good position of sound effects , mp3 , cd playback is very nice too. I love it ....

I know there are probably lots of other receivers and amps out in the market that are newer with more flash features ..this I find to be very good and performs exceptionaly well...never had any problems ....

Big thumbs up !

Smile new amp

I'm glad you agree,I was just trying to say that for the money it is excellent value only let down by the quality of music playback.
I am also using Panasonic 32" tau tv,Toshiba sd220e dvd, front speakers are Bose am3,centre and back speakers are mission finishing off with a Rel Q100e subwoofer.
Movies are an absolute pleasure to watch but music could be a little better.

Portable TV? cheek! I don't think you can run my TV off a 12V battery.... I am thinking about buying a PJ when funds allow & somewhere that will demo a model I'm interested in buying.

60 DVD's.... I admit to having a fairly small amount of DVD's compared to other members out there, however I will not buy a DVD for the sake of buying (well maybe not in the case of buying Batman Forever...... )

Don't worry mate, I think you've got the last laugh, have you seen what make his front speakers are? Bose, I reckon your tv speakers would give them a run for their money.
