11" Sony OLED tv out in December

http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/12/s...s-by-december/

Only the 11" model, and Japan - but still. Good sign of things moving quicker than we initially thought.

Yeah that looks incredible.

Imagine a 42" one that thin on your wall!

how are they going to get the power pack away from the screen?
will it eventually become a 2 parter?

Re: 11" Sony OLED tv out in December

Well realistically they won't be that thin for consumer use, I would imagine they will be something like current LCDs (maybe a bit thinner) - otherwise no insurace company would cover them, they would be forever getting smashed.

It's more the better PQ than the "thinness" that interests me.

Re: 11" Sony OLED tv out in December

The future is definately OLED. I think you will see it used on amazingly thin material. Imagine the possibilities - who would need a bulky, noisy projector if you could have a tab tensioned drop down Oled screen of the same size, instead of a screen & pj ? Roll on 5 to 10 years time!

Re: 11" Sony OLED tv out in December

i wouldnt worry about power pack issues, you can always run a thin cable to power it. no reason why you cant have a display that thin and 50" diag

well guess what il be ordering a few of for the offices in dec
cant wait
