New Sony widescreen CRT with DVI

Check this out:

New Sony widescreen CRT's with Hi-Res display and DVI input

Should give great results with a HCPC but will they (or similar) be available in the UK while we lack HDTV?

KV-34XBR910 and KV-30XBR910

DVI probably isn't a good idea for CRTs since you would loss its ability to do proper customs resolutions and refresh rates as well as limiting it to 8bit colour.

DVI only 8-bit colour ?

Are you sure about the 8-bit colour ?

I thought it was 8+8+8 (RGB) = 24-bit ?

Must check my own (work) website (Analog Devices) + Silicon Image's.

Yes but if you use analogue you could have 10+10+10 = 30bit

DVI doesn't nessesarily mean digital, it can be DVI-D or DVI-A, or both. DVI-A (anologue) is the same RGBHV signal but using the DVI connector. Sounds like a nice TV tho
