Wont play region 2 dvds

Hi,

I bought my first iMac on monday and i cant get it to play region 2 dvds on front row.
I can get it to play them on VLC but i would rather the computer that cost me £1000 to do it the way it was meant to.

Being that i live in a region 2 area and bought the computer in one its should work but wont.

Any suggestions?

Re: Wont play region 2 dvds

you'll possibly need to set the region to 2 first for the player ... put dvd in, launch dvd player app (not VLC or FrontRow) and you should get widow saying you need to 'set' region - select 2 and then you'll be fine ...

If you accidentally set 1 when you first played a disc then you can reset to 2 but you can only change the region a max of 5 times - after that it stays locked to the last region set ...

HTH
