Re: 5.1 Speaker System

The mordaunt do look nice but thats a little bit to much at the moment. Just looking for a fairly cheap set for the time being. between £100 - £130ish. Any other suggestions on the ones i have listed. The "Pioneer S-V50-G" ones look pretty good

Any thoughts

Re: 5.1 Speaker System

I think you need to rebalance your spending. Buying a quality Av amp and connecting cheap speakers will not show your AV amp in good light. Just look here to see how that amp is matched http://www.creative-audio.co.uk/hots...AMP_ONK505.htm

Re: 5.1 Speaker System

i basically wanted to get a good amp, for Sky, DVD, Ps3, etc. Then when i can afford it get some decent speakers, but for the short term just wanted to get some cheap ones, i aint talking 50 quid ones just up to about 130ish.

Why not get some speakers up front (maybe the MS 302's & matching centre) and build the system up as you can afford it. You'll end up with a far better system in the end. If you buy a cheap set, you'll most likely only throw it away when it comes to upgrade time.

It's true, I would go with Lazymatt suggestion....

Just go in to any AV showroom and get a few demos of the range of speakers... explain that your on a budget... they are usually very receptive to try to get a system that you'll be happy with and not wanting to upgrade in a short time... you can build the system over a period as your budget allows... you need to get the fronts and centre first...
Then you can get the sub and rears later.... it will be worth doing it that way...
