Vantage Point

This film looks like it is worth watching. Has William Hurt. Sigourney Weaver, Dennis Quaid, Forest Whitaker and Mathew Fox (from TV's Lost).

Not out until next year though.

Re: Vantage Point

It does indeed look good but I fear it could fall into the same boat as the film called The Siege.

Re: Vantage Point

O dear went to see this tonight, concept was a good idea but the ending totally ruined the film for me, its not a good sign when the audience start laughing at the end of the film (When its a thriller)

Thumbs up Re: Vantage Point

Hi,

Saw this today, and - apart from the final 10-minutes or so - thought it was a very good film, and with an interesting concept, ala "Run, Lola, Run"! Yes, the ending's pretty far-fetched, but don't let that spoil it for you.

Oh, and the film's content is far more dramatically intense than it sounds. Not a wise choice for under-12's to see!

Had people laughing at the end of the showing I was just at.

Not a bad film, thought the idea was good but as previously said the ending isn't up to much.

Re: Vantage Point

This is a movie with a great trailer, and your imagination will take over. I haven't seen it, but the trailer says watch it.

The seating distance thing is quite annoying. Yeah it looks great from 20ft away.. so does my ex!!!. Grain is the best way to see that you are getting a good HD image. Use it to callibrate your equipment...

Re: Vantage Point

I'm going to try and see it this afternoon and will post an oppinon. I love Forest Whitaker as a actor, thought he was fantastic in ER. Never sat down and watched Lost (apart from when it was on Channel 4 in the UK until Sky realized it was popular so they bought the rights) but Matthew Fox was great in Party of Five.

Will wait and see...

Re: Vantage Point

have to agree, totally ruined by a final inept and comedy 10minutes.. Unfortunately its so bad it destroys and overshadows all the good work that came before (grrrrr)

The end of a movie is the most important part. I hate it when movies have a great leadup to a bad ending.... 'IT' springs to mind... and 'Life On Mars' infact I'll make a new thread...

Re: Vantage Point

Pincho Paxton, i saw Life on Mars recently (Season 1) - couldnt agree more in that i wish theyd not made such a happy ending to it.

I was looking forward to vantage point originally but read a lot of similar things as mentioned here. Would you say discounting the final 10 minutes its still worth watching at the Cinema or should one just wait until its out on dvd cheap in a years time?

Technically, it wasn't a happy ending as he died.

After looking forward to this film. I was rather disappointed.
