Soundcard Connection Issue

Hi

I've posted this in the cables forum, but thought it might be more visible here

On the back of my PC soundcard is a line-out port so as to channel the music to an external source. I've had this connected for a fair while now, and I removed the cable today due to purchasing a longer one. However on removal, a small part of the connector snapped off and I am unable to remove it from the socket. It's annoying because this effectively means I cannot listen to music via my PC.

Any tips on getting broken connectors out?!

Thanks

Re: Soundcard Connection Issue

I've done something similar before...

Remove soundcard, stand it up so socket is facing upwards
Get a very small nail or similar with a flat head about 2mm diameter
Put a tiny drop of superglue on nail head
Insert nail carefully
Wait until you can hope it has bonded to the broken part
Cross your fingers and pull nail out

Re: Soundcard Connection Issue

I did think about the superglue method... I will give it a go tomorrow! Fingers crossed. Thanks.

I like that idea - bordering on genius...

Re: Soundcard Connection Issue

Nice one Stiben - it had the potential to go horribly wrong, but it actually worked!
